Carribean Sea table

This week, Colorantic blogger, Lucie shows us how to upgrade a living room table. Follow along, step by step, and learn how to refurbish a living room table to fit your decor.

Before beginning, here are a few words from Lucie: “I bought a coffee table that was a little dull, but it was a nice size. Above all, it was ready to be given a modern makeover! This was a great project to do with Colorantic chalk paint.

Preparation

    1. Prepare all the surfaces. I used the Colorantic Cleaner and Polish Remover
    2. I sprayed the cleaner and left it to act for 30 minutes. Once the time was up, I rinsed well twice with a clean, damp cloth. I didn’t need to sand the surfaces as everything was smooth and clean.

Now, it is ready for painting!

Painting

  1. Using the oval 35 mm brush, I applied the first coat of paint, Caribbean Sea.
  2. After 30 minutes of drying, I applied a second coat for more uniformity. The original black colour was harder to hide. Only two thin coats were enough to complete my project.

Finishing

    1. For the finish, I used the Snow White Wax. I applied it using the Colorantic 16mm round brush. Once the wax has been applied, it is important to buff it well using a blue paper towel. It is important to change paper towels frequently to achieve a smooth, flawless finish.

Finally, the table is now ready to add a unique colourful touch to your living room!

A Very Simple Decor!

In short, it’s a simple upgrade to do at home.

You just need to use the right products and take the time necessary for each step. You can also use these same steps for another piece of furniture, such as a bookcase, side table or living room cabinet!

How to Incorporate a Coffee Table into the Decor of Your Living Room?

Your living room is a room where you definitely spend alot of time. It is also the place where you can relax, rest and enjoy evenings with friends or family around a coffee table, the central element of the room. But how can you incorporate a coffee table without disrupting the decor of your living room?

  • Your living room should exude an atmosphere of its own, unique to you. It can be meticulously organized with drawers, storage boxes and other shelves to perfectly organize your objects and mementos. In this case, opt for a coffee table with plenty of storage space, so you can continue to organize in this central element of the room, and it won’t look out of place with the rest of the space.
