On a very beautiful Saturday in May 2015, my husband and I let’s travel garage sales to find the rare gem, and that’s when his eyes are drawn to an object hidden behind a table strewn with objects for sale. So he sneaked behind it to discover a magnificent little chest of drawers.
Happy with his discovery and knowing my great passion for repurposing furniture and various objects, he was quick to introduce me to his find.
Despite her great lack of love, when I saw her I fell under her spell, I was won over by her unique curves and details. Very disappointed to learn that it was not for sale, my husband finally managed to negotiate it for the modest sum of $20, you can guess my enthusiasm.
As owners of a century-old house, we have a particular attachment to old furniture, and among these some need revaluation to come back to life again, such was the case for our little chest of drawers.
The products used

The preparation
- Remove drawers and handles.
- Lay the piece of furniture flat on a large canvas to strip the head.
- Sand the furniture starting with 80-grit paper and finishing with 120-grit paper.
- Spray the furniture with Cleaner and Varnish Remover, spread it with a cloth and leave to act for 30 minutes. Once the time has elapsed, rinse twice using a cloth with hot water to remove all residue.
- Apply the Oil Primer and respect the drying time.
The painting
You are now ready to apply the first coat of paint. If necessary, sand very lightly using 220-grit sandpaper before applying the second coat of paint.
Protection
- Allow the paint to dry very well before waxing.
- Using the large round XL brush and a small part at a time, apply a layer of Natural wax bees on all surfaces. Once the wax has been applied, it is important to polish well using the white cloths.
- It is very important to change the cloth at each step, because it s’engorgera of wax and will no longer allow good polishing.
Touch definition
- With a cloth and the tip of your finger, apply Snow White wax to the desired locations on the ornament.
- Strip the handles and paint them with gold paint.
- Fill the old handle holes with wood filler and sand lightly;
- Drill new holes to position the handles.
After five years of waiting and very beautiful ideas in mind, I decided to paint it simply and bring out the richness of its magnificent curves.
In all its splendor, it beautifully embellishes a corner of our guest bedroom.
