Products Used:

    Preparation

Once you have the appropriate materials, it’s time to prepare the surfaces.

    • Start by cleaning and degreasing every nook and cranny of your furniture to remove any dirt and dust present. This cleaning step is crucial before starting to paint. If you can dismantle your furniture and remove the handles, even better for this phase.
    • Clean the furniture and drawers using Colorantic  Cleaner and Varnish Remover
    • Spray all surfaces and let it sit for 30 minutes. Once the time is up, make sure to rinse thoroughly to remove all residues.
    • Use wood filler to fill the holes of the handles if you wish to change them.
    • Use a sander with 80-grit sandpaper to sand the frame of the furniture.
    • Use a foam brush and the stain of your choice to stain the frame of the furniture. Be sure to follow the manufacturer’s recommendations regarding layers and drying time.
    • Insert the drawers into the frame of the furniture.

    Painting

    • Apply one to two coats of Colorantic’s Vintage Cream paint, making sure to respect the drying time between coats.

    • Apply a third coat of Vintage Cream, and before it dries, trace a circle around the drawers with the mixture of Vintage Cream and Metallic Jewel.

    • Do not paint the inside of this circle, as it will be the focal point of the drawer. Using a dry brush, sweep the paint in horizontal, vertical, and diagonal movements outward from the circle to blend the paint evenly. To ensure a beautiful finish, repeat your sweeping motion a second time.

    • Lightly add paint to the sides of the circle using the mixture you created, still making sweeping motions in all directions. However, this time, make the movements toward the inside of the circle with the paint-covered brush, then repeat the sweeping with a dry brush without paint. This will soften the finish, and the transition between colours will be more pleasant and subtle.

    • Use Metallic Jewel paint on the outline and corners of the drawers. Again, make inward horizontal, vertical, and diagonal movements to blend the different paint shades well.

    • Make a second circle approximately the same size as the first with the paint mixture. Sweep outward in all directions to soften the transition between colours. You can also lightly go over the inside of the circle, then use your dry brush to repeat the process.

    • Use a small amount of Vintage Cream paint to make a dot in the center of the drawers and then draw a circle with the paint mixture around this point. To blend them well, sweep again with your brush. If necessary, use your dry brush to soften the finish.

    Finishing

    • Apply natural beeswax to the drawers and Charcoal Black wax to the edges and ends of the drawers and around the location of the handles to add an antique effect to the furniture.

    • If necessary, use a drill to make holes for your handles and install them.

    • Also, by using a few colours and creating a gradient from a light colour to a darker one, you will be able to add a beautiful touch of light and impact to any flat surface.

You can use any colours you desire, and the effect will still be noticeable. Just be creative!
