Chalkboard paint
black

Colorantic chalkboard paint is a smoother, more liquid black paint than our ordinary chalk-based paint. For best results, apply at least 3 coats. Create a slate and write on it with chalk – it’s possible!

We’ve got the chameleon products you need to get the job done! Whether you want to paint a wall in the children’s playroom or spruce up an old picture frame or mirror… you’ll find all the Colorantic products you need for your big projects! Our chalkboard paint is perfect for creating the slate of your dreams.

How do I go about it?

  • First, coat your surface with a primer to improve adhesion. Especially if it’s a mirror or a wall.
  • Use a roller or brush to apply a minimum of 3 coats of paint to your surface. Allow to dry for 2-3 hours between coats. Finally, allow to dry 24-48 hours after the last coat before proceeding to the next step.
  • Apply white chalk, widthwise, and rub all over the surface. Wipe with a slightly damp white cloth (t-shirt style) to remove any residue. The chalk residue will promote fusion with the liquid chalk found inside our paint bases. Colorantic is unique!
  • In conclusion, you’re now ready to write your little messages and drawings on your new home-made slate!
  • We have water-erasable marker pens. An ideal match for our chalkboard paint (see “brushes and accessories” section).
  • To clean your painting, use a damp cloth and you can even add a little VIM.
