How to Turn a Cabinet Into a Bathroom Vanity

• Colorantic synthetic #10 purple oval brush
• Colorantic velvet foam roller
• Angled brush, natural bristles 38 mm Colorantic
• Colorantic XL Round Brush
• CoIorantic two-grit sanding block  and 80, 100 and 120 grit sandpaper
• Colorantic Tangerine Granular Soap
• Multi-use blue paper towel
• Orbital sander
• Handles
• Black and aluminum spray paints

The preparation of the vanity

First, sand the top using a sander and 80 grit paper and finish with 120 grit paper. Cover it to protect it well. Then remove the hardware.

Spray the cleaner and varnish remover on the furniture and spread it well on all surfaces using a paper towel, let it act for 30 minutes.

It is important to rinse well twice to remove all residue. In order to scratch the surfaces, sand lightly using 100 grit paper and make sure to dust very well.

Apply the oil-based primer using the Colorantic velvet foam roller and respect the recommended drying time.

Now is the long-awaited time to apply the colour.

The painting

Apply a first coat of the very beautiful colour, Tractor Dust, using the velvet finish foam roller and the #10 oval brush.

Once the paint is dry, it’s time to apply the second coat.

Protection

Using a natural bristle paintbrush or a velvet foam roller, apply two to three coats of Clear Glaze, Translucent Window on top.

For the base, apply two coats of Top Coat on all surfaces using a foam roller and the #10 oval brush.

The Hinges

So that these harmonize well with the new handles, pewter color, I painted them. Spray the nail polish cleaner and remover liberally on the hinges and let sit for about 30 minutes. Rinse very well under running water to remove all residues.

Spray a first coat of aluminum color.

Once the paint is dry, spray the black paint in short bursts. Add aluminum paint as needed and so on until the desired result.

Hutch Transformation – The Preparation

We removed the doors, added a molding to hide the holes in the hinges, removed the brackets that allowed it to rest on the sideboard and we also changed the depth. The hutch is now 5½” deep, excluding the ledge of course. Sprinkle the varnish cleaner and remover on the furniture and spread it well on all surfaces using a paper towel, let it act for 30 minutes.

Rinse very well twice to remove all residue.

Sand very lightly, only to scratch, using 100 grit paper and make sure you dust very well.

Apply the primer using a foam roller and respect the recommended drying time.

Now is the time to apply the colour.

Painting The Hutch

Apply a first coat of the beautiful pure white, Cotton ball using a foam roller and the #10 oval brush.

Once the paint is dry, it’s time to apply the second coat.

After a few weeks of colossal work, we are really very proud of our new bathroom. Now it matches the style of our house perfectly.

To top it all off and enjoy the good moments of relaxation it gives me, what could be better than this bath bridge and the fragrances of the candles from Colorantic.
