The preparation
The first step is to remove the handles from the furniture. Being Since I intended to install new handles, I plugged the holes so that I could use handles of a different size than the original handles.
I took care to clean the furniture thoroughly using Colorantic Varnish Cleaner and Remover. I sprayed all the surfaces and let the cleaner sit for 30 minutes.
Using a cloth with hot water, I rinsed several times to remove all residue.
Once the cleaning was complete, I used the sanding block to scratch all the surfaces to allow for better paint adhesion.
Painting: first color
Initially, the furniture was painted gray, and it is with the Kiwi color of Colorantic that I started my work.
I applied the Kiwi color horizontally so as to reveal the initial shade. This could work just as well with furniture painted a different color or made from natural wood.
Since Colorantic chalk paint dries quickly, after 30 minutes I was able to apply the second color.
Painting: second color
For the second color, I chose Sunflower. I used the same technique as the first layer, so, paint a thin layer horizontally.
Afterwards, I sprayed water here and there and using the brush I randomly mixed the Kiwi and Sunflower shades.
Once the paint was dry, I redid the same steps with the same shades as mentioned above.
Finishing
The finishing stage is very important, especially when we use Colorantic wax, because it allows us to create incredible effects.
Using the 16mm wax brush, I applied the Natural wax bees on all surfaces. When applying wax, it is important to work one section at a time. So I applied the wax and using a blue paper towel I rubbed very well to remove the excess. I changed paper towels at each section, because this one was engorged of wax and no longer allowed polishing.
Once the Natural wax bee applied to all surfaces, I applied the Antique Brown wax to the edges using another 16mm brush. There Natural wax bee gave me allowed me to easily apply the dark wax and also allowed me to make the necessary corrections until the desired result was obtained.
***I suggest you use a clean wax brush and make circles to better blend the gradient between the Antique Brown and Natural Bee waxes.
Let the wax dry well before cleaning the furniture, this can take up to a week or even more depending on the humidity level in the house.
